Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I know if this course is right for me?

This is a course for beginners, or singers who haven't formally trained their voices.  If you like to sing, and you've either never taken a voice lesson, or it's been a really long time and you'd like to get your voice in shape, this course is for you.  That said, this course is not meant for children - I've designed the program for teenagers and older.  Currently, the exercises are optimal for women, and people with higher voices.  I am currently making exercises to include lower voices, which should be available soon! If you'd like to be notified when that happens, contact me HERE.

Do I have to complete the program in 6 weeks?

"Six Weeks" is merely a suggestion.  You can move as fast or slow as what's comfortable for you. You will keep your access to the course indefinitely so you can revisit the lessons whenever you like.

Do I need to be able to read music?

Nope.

How does the course work?

The course is broken up into 6 modules, plus a bonus module at the beginning.  Each module contains between 3 and 6 quick video lessons.  And each lesson has separate recorded exercises that go with it.  I explain the exercise in the lesson, and then you practice what you learned in the accompanying exercise.  We go from the very basics and build to more intermediate exercises.

Why should I listen to you?

I was a student at Columbia University in New York City and studied voice and vocal performance through the Manhattan School of Music.  While there, I won an audition to study with Metropolitan Opera Star, Spiro Malas.  Since graduating, I've performed all over the country, both as a singer/songwriter and a hired performer in touring groups.  I even opened up my own music school in Northern California, before moving to my current home in Austin, TX where I now work as a singer, recording artist, producer and teacher.

Don't I need a teacher to listen to me for voice lessons to work?

When you're just starting out as a singer, you need to learn certain fundamentals.  I teach these same fundamental lessons to all of my new singers.  If you follow along with the video, you'll have no trouble at all.  If you can follow instructions with the help of video, musical and visual aids, you can do this course and improve. The more challenging sections deal with strengthening and conditioning your voice, and again, if you follow the instructions, you'll start to feel and hear the difference.

Do you have a course for more advanced singers?

I am currently developing an online course for intermediate singers.  If you'd like to be notified when it's available, contact me at the form below.
